Instructor: Kevin Heller, 48 years old, and born in the Netherlands, grew up loving martial arts. He is the Chief Instructor for Denmark for IKA KAPAP and in that capacity also the Country Director.
As a kid he enrolled in full-contact Taekwondo at the age of 12 and enjoyed the sparring, the style and the discipline of it all. After graduating to first degree black belt and moving to Utrecht to study Journalism he soon opened his own school where he taught Taekwondo, Jeet Kune Do and some Kickboxing. In his spare time he would train in Muay Thai Boxing.
After moving to Amsterdam to work as a bouncer in the bustling Amsterdam night-life he decided to train in a new discipline that had more roots in realistic street-fighting and found himself enrolled into a two year intense Krav Maga civilian instructor course.
For reasons untold here Kevin then found himself training with a Dutch counter-terrorism team. After they asked him to instruct them in the Krav Maga system Kevin traveled to Israel with a letter of approval from the Dutch Marines to become an instructor for military and law enforcement units. Having reached level 3 at the hands of instructors deeply connected to Navy special forces Kevin returned to the Netherlands and instructed not only the counter-terrorism team, but also troops on their way to be deployed to Afghanistan and Mali aswell as other specialized troops in need of hand-to-hand combat skills.
Kevin also opened a school in Amsterdam for civilians and focussed mostly on women and members of the LGBTQ+ community after having seen how much violence and intimidation these groups have to endure on a daily basis working as a bouncer. He organized several seminars and workshops and also taught at a local yoga studio in order to reach a larger audience.
Kevin moved to Copenhagen in 2024 to be with his one true love and is looking forward to passing on his teachings to the Vikings!
